La Loma Extends Stay for a Final Cinco de Mayo Celebration

Denver, Colo. (April 15, 2016) – La Loma will remain open for business at their original location at 2527 W. 26th Ave. until mid to late May to have one last Cinco de Mayo celebration before moving and expanding to new locations.

“The original location has been the scene of many celebrations,” said owner Mark Brinkerhoff. “We want to go out with a bang and make it a Cinco de Mayo to remember at this location. We are open for business at the current location until at least May 15.”

After 35 years in the Jefferson Park location, La Loma has the perfect recipe for the ultimate Cinco de Mayo party: delicious food, cold margaritas and an ambiance like no other.

The featured drink is the Mexi-Flag Marg designed to look like the Mexican flag. The frozen margarita is three layers beginning with the signature frozen strawberry margarita followed by the original house flavor then topped with a float of Midori melon liquor. Also, exclusively offered at La Loma, are their famous barrel-aged Don Julio tequila shots for $6.

“Cinco de Mayo and the month of May is a great opportunity for us to visit and celebrate our history with our regulars as well as new customers,” said Brinkerhoff. “We are excited to give customers another month or so to visit us. We hope to announce the final move date soon.”

La Loma Mexican Restaurant Announces Move to Former Trinity Grille Location

Denver, Colo. (Feb. 16, 2016) - After dinner on Sunday, April 10, La Loma Mexican Restaurant will close its doors after 43 years in Jefferson Park, and move to the former site of the Trinity Grille in downtown Denver at 1801 Broadway.

Boss Architecture will complete a full renovation of the space, as well as design a second, flagship La Loma, near the Downtown Aquarium on Water Street. The new location at the former Trinity Grille will be open to the public from 11am Sunday, April 17 onwards.

“The new location will have many of the same features that are displayed in the original location: the stained glass, some of the roofing and bricks, and the infamous Grandma Mendoza painting,” said owner Mark Brinkerhoff. “The new downtown La Loma will serve our current clientele while we’re building the new flagship restaurant across from the Aquarium; then both locations will serve the downtown Denver clientele, as well as our loyal guests that come from all over the Greater Denver area.”

Within two years there will be three La Loma locations: Downtown, Platte Valley near the Aquarium, and a third in the Castle Rock area. By the end of 2016, they will open a new concept, Sierra Grill, in the RidgeGate community. Sierra Grill will feature a large wood-fired grill, and offer the flavors of the southwest.

La Loma invites customers to share their experiences of the original location on Facebook using the hashtag #LaLoma1973, so their longtime regulars can share memories with each other.

La Loma Mexican Restaurant plans to move and expand

Denver, Colo. (Feb. 3, 2016) -  Family-owned La Loma Mexican Restaurant has been serving Denver since 1973 from its home in Jefferson Park. In the next couple of months, the much-loved Tex-Mex staple will have a new home in the downtown area, and soon after that, construction will begin on a new flagship location near the Denver Aquarium. The downtown location will be announced soon, and construction of the new flagship building will be complete in the next year.

“We’ve outgrown our current location, and we want to serve our loyal guests more efficiently,” said owner Mark Brinkerhoff.  “We also want to bring La Loma to new neighborhoods.  We’ll continue to showcase our food, and appreciation for our guests, and honor the history of La Loma. The new locations will have many of the same features that are displayed in the original location, most likely the stained glass, fireplace, some of the roofing and bricks, and the infamous Grandma Mendoza painting -- but in exciting, new spaces.”

Within two years there will be three La Loma locations: Downtown, Platte Valley near the Aquarium, and in the Castle Rock area – additionally they will open a concept called Sierra Grill. Sierra Grill, located in the RidgeGate community, will offer a large wood-fired grill, and feature the flavors of the southwest.

The Brinkerhoff family has owned and operated La Loma since 1981, and has been a tenant at the current La Loma site for some time. When they learned that their lease was up they embraced the opportunity for growth.

“The new downtown location will serve our current clientele while we’re building the new flagship restaurant across from the Aquarium,” said Brinkerhoff.  “We plan to operate both locations in order to serve the downtown clientele, as well as our loyal guests that come from all over the Greater Denver area.”

La Loma invites customers to begin sharing their experiences of the original location on Facebook using the hashtag #LaLoma1973, so their longtime regulars can share memories with each other. And never fear, once the new Aquarium location is open, they will still offer a Broncos shuttle to and from Mile High Stadium.
